Laser hair removal is one of the most requested treatments we offer, and the two questions everyone asks are the same: how many sessions will it actually take, and is it really permanent? Here's the honest answer to both.
How Many Sessions Will You Need?
Most people need around six to eight sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, before seeing a significant, lasting reduction in hair growth. This isn't arbitrary — it's dictated by your hair's natural growth cycle.
Why It Takes Multiple Sessions
Hair grows in cycles, moving between active growth, transition and resting phases, and the laser can only effectively target hair that's in its active growth phase. Since not all your hair follicles are in that phase at the same time, spacing sessions out ensures the laser eventually catches each one at the right moment.
Is It Actually Permanent?
Laser hair removal delivers permanent hair reduction rather than permanent removal in the absolute sense — typically a 70 to 90 percent reduction after a full course of treatment. Any hair that does grow back tends to be noticeably finer and grows back less often, meaning smoother skin for much longer between any maintenance needed.
What About Maintenance?
Once you've completed your initial course, most people only need a maintenance session once or twice a year. Results on the body, like underarms and legs, tend to hold particularly well — often twelve to twenty-four months — while facial areas may need slightly more frequent top-ups.
