What Is a Level 5 Qualification?
Level 5 sits alongside a foundation degree or HND on the UK qualifications framework. In aesthetics, it is the advanced level for practitioners who already hold Level 4 and want to treat more complex skin concerns with more advanced protocols.
Level 5 shows clients and insurers that you have gone beyond the standard qualifications, and it lets you offer higher-value treatments. As an approved Focus Awards centre (RFC8853), our Level 5 qualifications are regulated, not just a certificate of attendance.
Who Level 5 is for
Practitioners who have completed the appropriate Level 4 training and are ready to progress into advanced skin or laser practice, from both medical and non-medical backgrounds.

Advanced Microneedling & Chemical Peel requires the appropriate Level 4 qualification first. Speak to the team if you are unsure whether you meet the requirements.
How long it takes
Both of our Level 5 courses involve two days of practical training, with theory to complete beforehand.

What is a Level 5 qualification in aesthetics?
Level 5 is an advanced, regulated qualification at the same level as a foundation degree or HND. It builds on Level 4 with more complex treatments, deeper skin science and advanced treatment planning.
Do I need Level 4 before Level 5?
For Advanced Microneedling & Chemical Peel, yes. See our Level 4 courses if you need to complete that step first.
What is the difference between Level 4 and Level 5?
Level 4 covers advanced skin and laser treatments and the science behind them. Level 5 goes further, with more complex skin concerns, more advanced protocols.
Can non-medics do Level 5 aesthetics courses?
Yes. Our Level 5 courses are open to non-medical practitioners who meet the entry requirements. See our non-medical pathways.
Is Level 5 the same as Level 7?
No. Level 7 is postgraduate level, comparable to a master's degree, and is aimed mainly at experienced practitioners and healthcare professionals. Our training is led by Jazz Kaur, a Level 7 practitioner with more than 15 years in the industry.
Where can I do a Level 5 aesthetics course in Devon?
Jazz Beauty Academy is in Torquay town centre and trains students from across Devon and the South West, including Exeter, Plymouth and Newton Abbot.
