For beginners and beauty professionals
Non-Medical Pathway
You do not need a medical background to build a successful aesthetics career. Most of our students come from beauty, or have no industry experience at all.
The key is to build up in the right order: foundations first, then individual treatments, then advanced qualifications.
Step 1: Build your foundations
Start with our regulated Level 3 qualification, or with Fast Track Aesthetics if you want practical training across a wide range of treatments quickly. No previous experience is needed for either.
Step 2: Add treatments with CPD
Once you have a Level 3 beauty qualification or six months of needling experience, you can add individual treatments through our CPD courses, from microneedling and peels to injectables, skin boosters, laser, brows and lashes.
Step 3: Go further with Level 4
Level 4 qualifications cover advanced skin, laser and semi-permanent makeup treatments in more depth, and are what many insurers look for on higher-risk treatments.
Step 4: Specialise at Level 5
Level 5 is for experienced practitioners treating more complex skin concerns, including advanced microneedling and chemical peels.
Injectables as a non-medic
Non-medical practitioners can train in anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments once they meet our needle-training requirements. Anti-wrinkle products are prescription-only, so you will also work with a qualified prescriber.

For healthcare professionals
Medical Pathway
If you are a nurse, doctor, dentist, pharmacist or another registered healthcare professional, you already have clinical knowledge that beginners spend time building.
Our medical pathway lets you move straight on to the training that matters most for aesthetic practice.
Who the medical pathway is for
Registered healthcare professionals who want to move into aesthetics, or add aesthetic treatments to an existing practice.
Injectables
Most medical professionals start with injectables: anti-wrinkle, dermal fillers, polynucleotides and skin boosters, building from foundation to advanced techniques. See the Injectables and Skin Boosters sections of our CPD courses.
Skin and laser treatments
Add non-injectable treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels and laser through our CPD courses, or regulated Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications.
Prescribing
If you are an independent prescriber, you can prescribe anti-wrinkle treatments for your own clients after a face-to-face consultation. If not, you will work with a qualified prescriber.
Do I need a Level 3 first?
Your healthcare background will often meet the entry requirements for our needle-based courses. Each course page lists its requirements, and our team can check with you.
