What Is a CPD Course?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. A CPD course is focused, practical training in one treatment or a small group of related treatments. It is accredited by an independent CPD body, so the training has been checked against professional standards, and you receive a certificate when you complete it.

CPD courses are different from regulated Level 3, 4 and 5 qualifications. They are the quickest way to add a specific treatment once you have your foundations in place. Many practitioners combine both: a regulated qualification at the core of their business, and CPD courses to keep adding new treatments.

Who CPD courses are for

Beauty therapists, aesthetic practitioners and medical professionals who want to add a specific treatment to their services, and newly qualified practitioners building up their treatment menu.

Treatments you can train in

Skin treatments such as microneedling, chemical peels, dermaplaning, HIFU and RF microneedling; injectables including anti-wrinkle, dermal fillers and polynucleotides; skin boosters; laser and energy treatments; and brows, lashes and semi-permanent makeup.

Entry requirements

Any CPD course involving needles requires a Level 3 beauty qualification or above, or at least six months of previous needling experience. Each course page lists its own requirements. If you are starting from scratch, begin with our Level 3 courses or Fast Track Aesthetics.

How long they take

Most of our CPD courses run over one to two days in person, in small groups, with supervised practice on real models.

CPD or a Level 4 qualification?

Choose CPD to add one treatment quickly. Choose a regulated Level 4 or Level 5 qualification if you want in-depth, recognised training across a whole area such as skin or laser, which many insurers look for on higher-risk treatments.

Course bundles

Want to learn several treatments? Our bundles combine related CPD courses into one training package, so you can build a complete treatment menu in one go. They include Fast Track Aesthetics, our flagship course for people starting out. You will find them all in the Course Bundles section below.

Is a CPD course a recognised qualification?

A CPD certificate shows you have completed accredited training in that treatment. It is not a regulated qualification on the UK qualifications framework like our Level 3, 4 and 5 courses, but it is widely used across the industry to add individual treatments.

Can I do a CPD course with no experience?

Some non-needle courses are suitable for beginners. Needle-based courses need a Level 3 beauty qualification or six months of needling experience. If you are new to the industry, start with Level 3 or Fast Track Aesthetics.

Can non-medics do CPD aesthetics courses?

Yes. Most of our CPD courses, including injectables, are open to non-medical practitioners who meet the entry requirements. Anti-wrinkle treatments also need a qualified prescriber to prescribe the product for each client.

Will I be able to get insured?

Most specialist aesthetics insurers will cover treatments you have trained in on an accredited course. Check with your insurer before you book so you know exactly what they need.

How much do CPD courses cost?

Our CPD courses start from £199, with most single-treatment courses between £300 and £700. You can spread the cost with Klarna or PayItMonthly, subject to status.

Where are the courses held?

All of our training takes place at our clinic and academy in Torquay town centre, Devon, and we welcome students from across the South West and beyond.
