Introduction
This foundation CPD course introduces practitioners to the essential knowledge and practical principles behind dermal filler treatments. It is designed to establish a strong starting point in consultation, facial assessment, anatomy, product knowledge, safe technique and aftercare before progressing to more advanced injectable treatments.
The course combines underpinning theory with practical demonstration and hands-on learning where included. You will be guided through the treatment journey from consultation and assessment through to preparation, technique, aftercare and client management.
What You'll Learn
Course Content
- ✓ Dermal Filler Principles — You will learn what dermal fillers are used for, how different filler characteristics influence treatment and how treatment objectives should be matched to the individual client. The course introduces product handling and safe preparation in accordance with the products used during training.
- ✓ Facial Anatomy — Training covers relevant facial anatomy and tissue structures to help you understand safe treatment planning and why injection depth, placement and technique matter.
- ✓ Consultation & Facial Assessment — You will learn how to take a thorough consultation, review medical history, identify contraindications and precautions, assess facial proportions and discuss realistic treatment expectations. Consent, treatment records and photography are also included.
- ✓ Treatment Planning & Technique — The course introduces foundation injection techniques, treatment mapping, needle and/or cannula considerations where relevant, treatment preparation and controlled product placement. Training is focused on developing sound principles that can be built upon with further education.
- ✓ Practical Training — You will observe treatment demonstrations and, where included in the course format, practise under supervision. Practical learning focuses on consultation, assessment, preparation, marking and safe treatment technique.
- ✓ Contraindications & Safety — You will cover contraindications, infection prevention, sharps safety, safe working practices and the recognition of expected versus unexpected treatment responses. The course also introduces complication awareness and appropriate escalation.
- ✓ Aftercare & Client Management — You will learn how to give clear aftercare instructions, explain normal post-treatment responses, arrange appropriate follow-up and maintain professional treatment records.

Successful completion is recognised through a CPD certificate in the treatment covered by the course.
Foundation dermal filler training can provide a starting point for continued CPD in advanced dermal filler, facial contouring and other injectable treatments, subject to the practitioner’s qualifications, scope of practice and insurance requirements.

Requirements
All CPD courses involving needles require either a Level 3 Beauty qualification or above, or a minimum of 6 months’ previous needling experience. Please check the individual course requirements before booking.
